With the coming of Spring, I am calm again.
-Gustav Mahler
Spring has sprung and is finally giving way to summer, but weather in New York can be super unpredictable. One day it’s sunny and 80 degrees, the next it’s overcast and drizzly. Honestly my outfit is a constant gamble against the weather!
Layering is definitely a big part of my style, and spring is no different. Having a lightweight coat, like this cropped double-breasted trench, is an easy way to outsmart tricky weather changes. I also love the camel color on this piece – it’s classic and sophisticated, which counterbalances something like ripped jeans and elevates the whole look. Pairing this with a printed button-down is a sure way to look spring ready!
My most important accessory in spring has to be a clean, minimal watch, like this one from Timex. I’m constantly running from meeting to meeting, so keeping track of time is key. And really, who likes pulling their phone out every five minutes to check the time? Not me! A simple but elegant watch is a great way to step up any outfit, and really it just adds a dapper element to your style.
All said and done, I do love my spring layered looks, but I’m really ready for summer. I’m currently planning a last minute getaway to Tulum, Mexico and cannot wait to be sipping drinks by the beach. Stay tuned!
