Let’s be honest. I love shorts as much as the next guy, but I much prefer to wear pants, even in Summer. There’s something about a perfect pair of pants that just makes me feel put together without having to try very hard. And a good pair of pants can go with any outfit, especially when choosing a neutral color.
With this look I wanted to show how to wear a pair of pants in the heat of Summer. New York summers are no joke; the temperature is high, and so is the humidity. Keeping that in mind, I chose a slim, cropped style pant from Uniqlo. The best thing about this pair is that it’s made from a stretchy tech material that is super light. The fabric resists wrinkles, and looks and fits like a tailored trouser - a perfect marriage of tailoring and sportswear!
To top off the style, I wore a simple black t-shirt layered under a long-sleeve white button down from American Eagle. When wearing black pants in hotter weather, you can stay cool by complimenting the outfit with white; white colors don’t absorb heat like black pieces do, so it helps you stay cool, even if it’s long-sleeve. And of course I had to add a bit of a statement to this black-and-white look, and what better than a mirrored pair of sunglasses?
